about

Music by Darkroom chosen by filmmaker Chris Marsh for his sci-fi short Rhombus. Centred around recordings from the 2013 London Loopfest, it also features tracks produced in collaboration with Flamencamericana guitarist Daryl Shawn, alongside remastered cuts from the ‘Fallout’ live trilogy. The film is currently doing well on the festival circuit, winning ‘Best Experimental Film’ at the Bottle Cap Film Festival (UK) and receiving a nomination for Best Experimental at the Artemis International Film Festival (Turkey), to date.

A career-spanning overview of the darker ambient side of Darkroom.

about

Darkroom London, UK

Guitar but not guitar; synthesizers but not keyboards – Darkroom’s music starts with improvisation and a distinctive approach to sound design, followed by disciplined editing and stop-motion studio craft. By turns beautiful and beautifully ugly, theirs is a very human music that always sounds ‘played’ not ‘programmed’, despite the technology that's essential for producing it. ... more
